How we ranked these

We ranked electric cars by their reported starting price in US dollars, using The Arsenale (August 2026), Electrifying (June 2026) and GOBankingRates. Where only a UK price was available, we placed the car using that figure. One-off show cars and conversions were left out.

Just outside the top 10 sit the Cadillac Celestiq, at about $300,000, and the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV 680, at £200,870 in the UK. For petrol and hybrid models, see the most expensive cars in the world.
