In brief

  • Bugatti is the most expensive car brand, with the Tourbillon listed at €3.8 million and 250 cars planned.
  • Koenigsegg, Pagani and Rimac all sell cars priced at about $2 million or more.
  • Rolls-Royce has the highest entry price of any series-production brand, with the 2026 Ghost from $373,350.

The most expensive car brands in the world are Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Pagani and Rimac, whose current models cost about $2 million or more each, led by the Bugatti Tourbillon at about €3.8 million. Among series makers, Rolls-Royce is the most expensive, with US starting prices from $373,350 to $610,350, according to Kelley Blue Book, as of October 2026.

This ranking uses the starting price of each brand’s current lineup in the US where published, and the maker’s or a major publication’s quoted price for low-volume hypercars.

What are the most expensive car brands in the world?

The four most expensive car brands build only hypercars in small numbers, and every model with a reported price costs about $2 million or more. Below them sit six larger luxury and sports car makers whose regular models start between about $195,000 and $375,000.

Two different ways of measuring price explain the order. Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Pagani and Rimac do not publish US dealer price lists, and their cars are often sold out before production begins. Their prices come from launch reports and from publications such as Top Gear. Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, Bentley and Aston Martin sell through US dealers, so their base prices are listed by Kelley Blue Book and other pricing guides. Options often add tens of thousands of dollars, and Kelley Blue Book’s fair purchase price for the Lamborghini Temerario, $464,000, is well above its $386,649 sticker price.

The hypercar makers: Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Pagani and Rimac

Bugatti is the most expensive car brand in the world, with the Tourbillon listed at €3.8 million, according to Il Sole 24 Ore. Production is limited to 250 cars.

1. Bugatti

Bugatti builds its cars in Molsheim, France. Since 2021 it has been part of Bugatti Rimac, a joint venture in which Rimac holds 55% and Porsche 45%, led by Mate Rimac as chief executive, according to CNBC. The Tourbillon is a plug-in hybrid with a combined 1,800 hp from a V16 engine and three electric motors, and deliveries are due from 2026. Read more about record prices in our list of the most expensive cars in the world.

2. Koenigsegg

Koenigsegg, the Swedish hypercar maker, sells the Jesko for about £2.85 million, according to Top Gear. Only 125 Jeskos are being built across the Attack and Absolut versions, and all are spoken for. Its 5.1-litre twin-turbo V8 makes 1,263 bhp on petrol and 1,578 bhp on E85.

3. Pagani

Pagani, founded by Horacio Pagani and based in Modena, Italy, launched the Utopia coupé in 2022 at a starting price of $2.19 million, as reported by Tuoi Tre. The Utopia Roadster costs €3.1 million, about $3.4 million, according to Motor1. Only 99 coupés are planned, all assigned to buyers, and the roadster is limited to 130 cars. Both use a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 from Mercedes-AMG with 852 hp.

4. Rimac

Rimac, founded by Mate Rimac in Croatia in 2009, sells the all-electric Nevera for about £2 million and the Nevera R for about £2.3 million, according to Top Gear. The Nevera produces about 1,888 bhp and is limited to 150 cars. The Nevera R has more than 2,100 hp and is limited to 40.

Which luxury car brand has the highest starting price?

Rolls-Royce has the highest starting price of any series-production luxury brand in the US, with the 2026 Ghost from $373,350. That is about $93,000 more than the cheapest Lamborghini and about $146,000 more than the cheapest Bentley.

5. Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars sells four models in the US. Starting prices for 2026, according to Kelley Blue Book, are:

  • Ghost: $373,350
  • Spectre: $397,750
  • Cullinan: $432,350, or $502,350 for the Black Badge
  • Phantom: $530,350, or $610,350 for the Extended wheelbase

The Cullinan and Phantom use a 6.8-litre twin-turbo V12, which makes 563 hp in the Cullinan and 571 hp in the Phantom, according to Kelley Blue Book.

6. Lamborghini

Lamborghini sells three models in the US. The 2026 Urus starts at $280,736, the Temerario at $386,649 and the V12 hybrid Revuelto at $673,294, according to Kelley Blue Book. The Revuelto makes 1,001 hp and the Temerario 907 hp, according to Kelley Blue Book. The average of its three starting prices, about $447,000, is slightly above the Rolls-Royce average, but its entry price is lower. See our list of the most expensive Lamborghinis in the world.

7. Ferrari

Ferrari’s cheapest current model is the Amalfi at $261,810 before destination, as reported by Bloomberg. The 2026 296 GTB starts at $338,250 and the 2025 12Cilindri at $472,000, or $515,000 as a Spider, according to Kelley Blue Book. Above the regular range sits the F80, priced at about $3.9 million, with 799 cars planned and all assigned to buyers, according to The Drive and TimesLIVE. Our ranking of the most expensive Ferrari in the world covers its classic auction records.

8. McLaren

McLaren’s 2026 GTS starts at $229,900 and the Artura at $260,400. The 2027 750S starts at $375,500, or $397,500 as a Spider. The limited W1 hypercar, with 1,258 hp and 399 cars planned, costs about $2.1 million, according to The Drive.

9. Bentley

Bentley starts with the 2026 Bentayga V8 at $227,000. The Continental GT runs from $284,600 to $382,300 and the Continental GTC convertible from $313,100 to $414,500, according to iSeeCars. A $4,150 destination charge applies.

10. Aston Martin

Aston Martin’s 2026 Vantage starts at $194,500, the DBX SUV at $261,000 and the Vanquish at $465,300, according to Kelley Blue Book. Above them sits the Valhalla plug-in hybrid, with 1,064 hp and production limited to 999 cars, according to Motor Authority. Aston Martin has not published an official price.

How do limited-edition hypercars compare?

Limited-edition models from the larger brands now cost as much as a Pagani or Rimac. Ferrari’s F80, at about $3.9 million, costs more than a Pagani Utopia Roadster, while McLaren’s W1 costs about the same as a Utopia coupé.

Why do these car brands cost so much?

Low production, options and complex powertrains explain most of the price. Top Gear says Koenigsegg builds the Jesko at about 30 to 40 cars a year, and Pagani planned only 99 Utopia coupés, so development costs are spread over very few cars.

  • Scarcity: Every hypercar in this list has a fixed production cap, and the Jesko, Utopia coupé and F80 are all spoken for.
  • Options: Paint, trim and equipment push the final price above the base figure. Kelley Blue Book’s fair purchase price for a 2025 Ferrari 12Cilindri is $566,000, against a $472,000 sticker price.
  • Powertrains: V12 and V16 engines, hybrid systems such as the Tourbillon’s three electric motors, and large battery packs such as the Nevera’s are built in tiny numbers.
  • Demand: Many of the richest people in the world collect these cars, and Kelley Blue Book’s fair purchase prices for several current models sit above sticker price.

For buyers comparing brands rather than single cars, the practical point is that the entry price of most luxury brands sits between $195,000 and $375,000, while every hypercar brand’s reported prices start at about $2 million.
