The revived Jeopardy! premiered on 10 September 1984 and became one of the most watched syndicated shows in American television. Trebek hosted more than 8,200 episodes. In 2014, Guinness World Records recognised him for hosting the most episodes of a game show by the same presenter.
Alongside Jeopardy!, he hosted NBC’s Classic Concentration from 1987 to 1991. In 1991 he briefly hosted To Tell the Truth as well, which meant he was presenting three game shows at the same time. These extra shows added to his income during his peak earning years.
He also earned smaller sums from guest appearances, endorsements and his memoir, The Answer Is…: Reflections on My Life, published in July 2020.
